Laurie Victor Kay | Bio

Artist Laurie Victor Kay, b. 1971 invites the viewer to escape through her work, evoking the psyche which is paramount to the seemingly opposing elements. With a multi-disciplinary approach, LVK blurs the lines between photography, painting, culture and digital medium to reinterpret spaces into idealized imagined worlds from a wide range of subjects throughout the globe. LVK’s studies in painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and photography at Columbia College Chicago (BFA 1995) inform her practice.
Recent projects include The Gratitude Project: a public art installation of 14 videos 3-D projection mapped on an 80 foot wide UNMC building to thank healthcare workers during covid. She has created multi-work permanent installations at Lauritzen Outpatient Center UNMC, Buffett Cancer Center, UNMC, Women’s Center for Advancement, May River Capital Chicago, 4 World Trade Center, NYC, Marriott Capitol Arts District, Tenaska, as well as numerous private collections throughout the US.
